Footsteps on the track: Thump/ Thumping
Starting gun: Bang/ Crack/ PshrKkr
Taking in the background
Coach shouting encouragement and instruction: ‘Go, go, keep going, don’t stop!’
People training in the background: Breathing, shouting and exclamations
Commentator’s voice eching, rumbling above me.
Breathing/ Panting/ Puffing: ‘Hhh, hhh, hhh…’
Wind rushing pat: Whsssss

I heard thumping footsteps on the track.
The man in the green shirt started the gun.
I heard the people running.

11 year old girls race
It was like a dream come true. That I had to run around 300m three times. We were versing each other at the same time. Their names were Liyahn, Jade, Divine, Rinaz, Zahina, Ellenessa and Lydia. The coach told us that we had to pick a line each. The light was starting 1...2...3...GO! We ran as fast as we could but Jade was in the lead. Then Zahina took the lead and Jade got second. Jade was running like a slow animal. Jade ran as fast as she could but Zahina is still in the lead. Then Divine was running so fast then she’s in the lead. They were starting to go so sweaty. But one of them ignored the sweat. And was running so much faster than the others. We can hear the coach saying ‘Go go go!’ Don’t stop!’ Keep on running!’ Then Liyahn was running faster than anyone then Liyahn was in the lead. We hear the audience at the back saying ‘ Go go go go!’ ‘You can win this!’ ‘Don’t ever stop!’
‘Then Liyahn got into the finish line!’ The coach said. Liyahn was out of breath. Zahina got second, Divine got third, Lydia got fourth, Rinaz got fifth, Ellenessa got sixth, Then Jade was the last one. ‘Liyahn wins!’ said the coach. The people we're going wild. They were so happy together. Then Liyahn was starting to cry because she won the race.
