Milk Plastic

Today in science we are turning milk into plastic. There a lot of ingredients of how to make plastic but the science teacher told us just how to make milk into plastic. we are not making it today but we might make it tomorrow I'm not sure if we are going to make it tomorrow.

Aim: Make milk into Plastic

Ingredients:

• Stove, oven or microwave
• Measuring cup
• Measuring spoon (tsp.)
• Milk (1 cup)
• Pot or microwaveable container
• White vinegar
• Paper towels
• Spoon
• Mug
• Optional: food colouring, glitter, or cookie cutters for decoration.

Steps:

1. Heat the milk in the microwave or on the stove until it is steaming.
2. Add 4 teaspoons of white vinegar to a mug.
3. Add the hot milk to the mug with the vinegar. (What happens to the milk?)
4. Stir the mixture with a spoon.
5. Stack 4 layers of paper towels on a surface that is safe to get damp.
6. Spoon out the curds with a spoon and place them on the paper towels.
7. Fold the paper towels over the curds and press down to absorb excess liquid.
8. Knead all the curds together into a ball of dough.
9. Color, shape, or mold the dough as you like.
10. You can color your dough with food coloring
11. You can add glitter to make the dough sparkle!
12. You can use cookie cotters to shape your dough.
13. Or you can sculpt the dough with your hands. (What shape can you create?)
14. Put all you creations on a paper towel and let them dry overnight.

Now you have turned your milk into plastic!

Fizzy Drink And Mentos (Science)

 Kia ora readers,

Today me and all of my classmates were learning about Mentos and Fizzy Drinks. We all are interested which Fizzy Drink will make a mess more. I think Coca cola will fizz all over the place because I tried it before at Primary school.

Aim: To see which fizzy drink reacts the most with Mentos lollies.

Findings:

Mixture 

1. Coke

2. Sparkling Duet

3. Lemonade

Ingredients.

- 100 ml Liquid (Coke, ete)

- Ruler

-Beaker

- Coke

- Lemonade

-Raspberry   

-Mentos

Drama class

Today I will be posting a story about "Love birds". It's just something that me and my group did I don't know why planned to do this but we all just agree of the idea. I'm groups with Shylah, Heidi, Liyahn, Enzo and Risha. We also are going to do I video of our movement but I think we are doing that next week or today. We also asked the teacher to print it for us so we can practise of what are we going to say or to move. 

Here is the main points.

Main points. 

Heidi and shylah ship lenzo.	Shylah confesses to Heidi.	Heidi tells her parents that she’s panromantic.
Parents get a divorce.	Heidi moves in with her dad	Heidi and Shylah get married.

Rainbow Paper (Science class)

Today I will be telling you about Rainbow paper we did in science class. This is where we all separate the colours from the mixture using a liquid. I've seen this before but let's try it anyways. We can work by ourself or with someone.

Here is the what we have to write.

Aim: To separate colours by using of chromatography

Definition: Chromatography is a method of separating out materials from a mixture using a liquid.

Materials: 

1. Boiling tube

2. Marker

3. Water

4. Special Paper

5. Scissors

6. Test Tube Stand

7. Ruler

8. Pencil 

Process:

Step 1: Cut up the filter paper in strips to write on the felt pens.

Step 2: Rule a line 1 crn from the bottom of the paper strip.

Step 3: Put about 8 ml of water into the bottom of the boiling tube.

Step 4: Put two coloured pen dots on the pencil line.

Step 5: Drop the paper strip into the boiling tube and once it touching the water at the bottom you can crease the top of the paper over.

Step 6: Watch, take 2 photos and observe.

Skittles

Today is science class we will be experimenting skittles. I did this before in primary next to us in 2019 my teacher teaches all of us to do this by yourself, we just put the skittles at the sides and put water in the middle to remove the colours  and we get to eat them later. My Group is me and Enzo.

Here are some examples of how to do it.  

Chromatography is technique for the separation of a mixture by passing it in solution or suspension through a medium in which the components move at different rates.

Aim. to separate the colours from the skittles by using chromatography

Material.

1. 5 or 3. Skittles

2. Water

3. Petri dish

4. Beaker

Process.

Step 1. Get you equipment set up nearly to your the 50mls of water into the perti dish with skittles.

Step 2. Place the skittles into the perti dish around the edges.

Step 3. Pour 50ml water gently into the middle of the perti dish

Step 4. Watch as the water removes the dye from the skittles. See which colour reaches the middle fastest.

Step 5. Record your results on the table below.

Philippines Independence Day!

 Kamusta mga mambabasa,(hello readers)

Today I will be posting about the Philippines independence day. The independence day is at Saturday 12 of June this is where the Filipinos and classes preform dances and celebrate our country, also the girls and women's where dresses and we all get our country flag. When I was still in Philippines I stayed at my grandma and grandpa's house and I will see people celebrate independence day. Also I have to dance for the independence day but I might not be able to go cause I won't be here at July and the dance starts at July the 1st.

Fidings

Today I will be posting about the gummy bear that we did yesterday, one gummy bear grew but the other two didn't but the all change their weight. The water grew the gummy bear and the salt and sugar water just change their weight.

Here are some things I did.

Findings

The water that was included in the first gummy bear petri dish

made the gummy bear change from dry weight of 2.31 to a wet weight of

5.44 the difference between the two weights was 3.13 this means that the gummy bear absorbed

this amount of through the process of osmosis.

The salt water gummy bear petri dish had a change of a dry

weight of 2.37 to a wet weight of 3.41 the difference between in the

weight were 1.04.

The sugar water solution in the petri dish with the gummy bear made

the gummy bear

weight 2.39 this means it obsorted 0.94 water in total.

The gummy bear that changed the most in the water

was the gummy bear in the water petri dish.

Science

Today in science class we did some experiments of a gummy bear, first of we get our equipment and then put the gummy bear in one of each Petri dish and it will suck a little bit of it for itself. We have to see if the gummy will turn small or will it turn big.

Aim:

We want to find out what happened to the gummy if we put them different liquids.

Predictions

I think the gummy will grow in the liquids and equipment

Method

three solutions - water, sugar and salt

Steps:

Get your liquids

Label Petri dishes with dry, water, salt, and sugar.

weigh you gummy and record their weight on petri dish.

Add 40 ML of the solution into the Petri dish. 

Floods

Today I will be telling you guys about the flood that had happened last week in Ashburton. It was raining for like a week and it wouldn't stop until Tuesday and Wednesday. The flood in Ashburton happened on Friday, it also happened at Wigram at the court.

Pink shirt day coloring

Today I will be posting about this coloring that I did and finshed yesterday. I was thinking about putting some pink colors but a realize that I don't need to have it all pink, so I colored it with diffrent types of colors but I can still use the color pink for it.
